  1. And whoever takes Allah and His messenger and those who believe for a guardian, then surely the party of Allah are they that shall be triumphant.

  2. Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it and before it (is) the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it; and whoever of the (different) parties disbelieves in it, surely it is the truth from your Lord, but most men do not believe.

  3. And those to whom We have given the Book rejoice in that which has been revealed to you, and of the confederates are some who deny a part of it. Say: I am only commanded that I should serve Allah and not associate anything with Him, to Him do I invite (you) and to Him is my return.

  4. Then We raised them up that We might know which of the two parties was best able to compute the time for which they remained.

  5. But parties from among them disagreed with each other, so woe to those who disbelieve, because of presence on a great

  6. But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them.

  7. Of those who divided their religion and became seas every sect rejoicing in what they had with them

  8. They think the allies are not gone, and if the allies should come (again) they would fain be in the deserts with the desert Arabs asking for news about you, and if they were among you they would not fight save a little.

  9. And when the believers saw the allies, they said: This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth; and it only increased them in faith and submission.

  10. Surely the Shaitan is your enemy, so take him for an enemy; he only invites his party that they may be inmates of the burning

  11. A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight.

  12. And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties.

  13. The people of Nuh and the parties after them rejected (prophets) before them, and every nation purposed against their messenger to destroy him, and they disputed by means of the falsehood that they might thereby render null the truth, therefore I destroyed them; how was then My retribution!

  14. And he who believed said: O my people! surely I fear for you the like of what befell the parties:

  15. But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day.

  16. The Shaitan has gained the mastery over them, so he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah; they are the Shaitan's party; now surely the Shaitan's party are the losers.

  17. You shall not find a people who believe in Allah and the latter day befriending those who act in opposition to Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their (own) fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kinsfolk; these are they into whose hearts He has impressed faith, and whom He has strengthened with an inspiration from Him: and He will cause them to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein; Allah is well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Him these are Allah's party: now surely the party of Allah are the successful ones.
