  1. Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

  2. When you said to the believers: Does it not suffice you that your Lord should assist you with three thousand of the angels sent down?

  3. Yea! if you remain patient and are on your guard, and they come upon you in a headlong manner, your Lord will assist you with five thousand of the havoc-making angels.

  4. And their brethren increase them in error, then they cease not.

  5. When you sought aid from your Lord, so He answered you: I will assist you with a thousand of the angels following one another.

  6. Except those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty).

  7. And He it is Who spread the earth and made in it firm mountains and rivers, and of all fruits He has made in it two kinds; He makes the night cover the day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.

  8. And the earth-- We have spread it forth and made in it firm mountains and caused to grow in it of every suitable thing.

  9. Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers.

  10. Then We gave you back the turn to prevail against them, and aided you with wealth and children and made you a numerous band.

  11. All do We aid-- these as well as those-- out of the bounty of your Lord, and the bounty of your Lord is not confined.

  12. Say: If the sea were ink for the words of my Lord, the sea would surely be consumed before the words of my Lord are exhausted, though We were to bring the like of that (sea) to add

  13. Say: As for him who remains in error, the Beneficent Allah will surely prolong his length of days, until they see what they were threatened with, either the punishment or the hour; then they shall know who is in more evil plight and weaker in forces

  14. By no means! We write down what he says, and We will lengthen to him the length of the chastisement

  15. And do not stretch your eyes after that with which We have provided different classes of them, (of) the splendor of this world's life, that We may thereby try them; and the sustenance (given) by your Lord is better and more abiding.

  16. Whoever thinks that Allah will not assist him in this life and the hereafter, let him stretch a rope to the ceiling, then let him cut (it) off, then let him see if his struggle will take away that at which he is enraged.

  17. Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children,

  18. Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the shade? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary; then We have made the sun an indication of it

  19. And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know.

  20. He has given you abundance of cattle and children

  21. So when he came to Sulaiman, he said: What! will you help me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Nay, you are exultant because of your present;

  22. And were every tree that is in the earth (made into) pens and the sea (to supply it with ink), with seven more seas to increase it, the words of Allah would not come to an end; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.

  23. And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds,

  24. And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire.

  25. And extended shade,

  26. And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers.

  27. And give him vast riches,

  28. And when the earth is stretched,
