  1. The month of Ramazan is that in which the Quran was revealed, a guidance to men and clear proofs of the guidance and the distinction; therefore whoever of you is present in the month, he shall fast therein, and whoever is sick or upon a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days; Allah desires ease for you, and He does not desire for you difficulty, and (He desires) that you should complete the number and that you should exalt the greatness of Allah for His having guided you and that you may give thanks.

  2. And the divorced women should keep themselves in waiting for three courses; and it is not lawful for them that they should conceal what Allah has created in their wombs, if they believe in Allah and the last day; and their husbands have a better right to take them back in the meanwhile if they wish for reconciliation; and they have rights similar to those against them in a just manner, and the men are a degree above them, and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

  3. Do they not then meditate on the Quran? And if it were from any other than Allah, they would have found in it many a discrepancy.

  4. O you who believe! do not put questions about things which if declared to you may trouble you, and if you question about them when the Quran is being revealed, they shall be declared to you; Allah pardons this, and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.

  5. Say: What thing is the weightiest in testimony? Say: Allah is witness between you and me; and this Quran has been revealed to me that with it I may warn you and whomsoever it reaches. Do you really bear witness that there are other gods with Allah? Say: I do not bear witness. Say: He is only one Allah, and surely I am clear of that which you set up (with Him).

  6. And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and remain silent, that mercy may be shown to you.

  7. Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain; a promise which is binding on Him in the Taurat and the Injeel and the Quran; and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Rejoice therefore in the pledge which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement.

  8. And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who hope not for Our meeting say: Bring a Quran other than this or change it. Say: It does not beseem me that I should change it of myself; I follow naught but what is revealed to me; surely I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a mighty day.

  9. And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of the worlds.

  10. And you are not (engaged) in any affair, nor do you recite concerning it any portion of the Quran, nor do you do any work but We are witnesses over you when you enter into it, and there does not lie concealed from your Lord the weight of an atom in the earth or in the heaven, nor any thing less than that nor greater, but it is in a clear book.

  11. But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the disputers.

  12. Surely We have revealed it-- an Arabic Quran-- that you may understand.

  13. We narrate to you the best of narratives, by Our revealing to you this Quran, though before this you were certainly one of those who did not know.

  14. And even if there were a Quran with which the mountains were made to pass away, or the earth were travelled over with it, or the dead were made to speak thereby; nay! the commandment is wholly Allah's, Have not yet those who believe known that if Allah please He would certainly guide all the people? And (as for) those who disbelieve, there will not cease to afflict them because of what they do a repelling calamity, or it will alight close by their abodes, until the promise of Allah comes about; surely Allah will not fail in (His) promise.

  15. Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the Book and (of) a Quran that makes (things) clear.

  16. And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran.

  17. Those who made the Quran into shreds.

  18. So when you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaitan,

  19. Surely this Quran guides to that which is most upright and gives good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a great reward.

  20. Read your book; your own self is sufficient as a reckoner against you this day.

  21. And certainly We have repeated (warnings) in this Quran that they may be mindful, but it does not add save to their aversion.

  22. And when you recite the Quran, We place between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter a hidden barrier;

  23. And We have placed coverings on their hearts and a heaviness in their ears lest they understand it, and when you mention your Lord alone in the Quran they turn their backs in aversion.

  24. And when We said to you: Surely your Lord encompasses men; and We did not make the vision which We showed you but a trial for men and the cursed tree in the Quran as well; and We cause them to fear, but it only adds to their great inordinacy.

  25. (Remember) the day when We will call every people with their Imam; then whoever is given his book in his right hand, these shall read their book; and they shall not be dealt with a whit unjustly.

  26. Keep up prayer from the declining of the sun till the darkness of the night and the morning recitation; surely the morning recitation is witnessed.

  27. And We reveal of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, and it adds only to the perdition of the unjust.

  28. Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others.

  29. And certainly We have explained for men in this Quran every kind of similitude, but most men do not consent to aught but denying.

  30. Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend into heaven, and we will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say: Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal messenger?

  31. And it is a Quran which We have revealed in portions so that you may read it to the people by slow degrees, and We have revealed it, revealing in portions.

  32. And certainly We have explained in this Quran every kind of example, and man is most of all given to contention.

  33. We have not revealed the Quran to you that you may be unsuccessful.

  34. And thus have We sent it down an Arabic Quran, and have distinctly set forth therein of threats that they may guard (against evil) or that it may produce a reminder for them.

  35. Supremely exalted is therefore Allah, the King, the Truth, and do not make haste with the Quran before its revelation is made complete to you and say: O my Lord ! increase me in knowledge.

  36. And the Messenger cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing.

  37. And those who disbelieve say: Why has not the Quran been revealed to him all at once? Thus, that We may strengthen your heart by it and We have arranged it well in arranging.

  38. So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein.

  39. Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear

  40. And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah.

  41. Surely this Quran declares to the children of Israel most of what they differ in.

  42. And that I should recite the Quran. Therefore whoever goes aright, he goes aright for his own soul, and whoever goes ' astray, then say: I am only one of the warners.

  43. Most surely He Who has made the Quran binding on you will bring you back to the destination. Say: My Lord knows best him who has brought the guidance and him who is in manifest error.

  44. And certainly We have set forth for men every kind of example in this Quran; and if you should bring them a communication, those who disbelieve would certainly say: You are naught but false claimants.

  45. And those who disbelieve say: By no means will we believe in this Quran, nor in that which is before it; and could you see when the unjust shall be made to stand before their Lord, bandying words one with another! Those who were reckoned weak shall say to those who were proud: Had it not been for you we would certainly have been believers.

  46. I swear by the Quran full of wisdom

  47. And We have not taught him poetry, nor is it meet for him; it is nothing but a reminder and a plain Quran,

  48. Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition.

  49. And certainly We have set forth to men in this Quran similitudes of every sort that they may mind.

  50. An Arabic Quran without any crookedness, that they may guard (against evil).

  51. A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know:

  52. And those who disbelieve say: Do not listen to this Quran and make noise therein, perhaps you may overcome.

  53. And if We had made it a Quran in a foreign tongue, they would certainly have said: Why have not its communications been made clear? What! a foreign (tongue) and an Arabian! Say: It is to those who believe a guidance and a healing; and (as for) those who do not believe, there is a heaviness in their ears and it is obscure to them; these shall be called to from a far-off place.

  54. And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother city and those around it, and that you may give warning of the day of gathering together wherein is no doubt; a party shall be in the garden and (another) party in the burning fire.

  55. Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand.

  56. And they say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a man of importance in the two towns?

  57. And when We turned towards you a party of the jinn who listened to the Quran; so when they came to it, they said: Be silent; then when it was finished, they turned back to their people warning (them).

  58. Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Nay, on the hearts there are locks.

  59. Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)

  60. We know best what they say, and you are not one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Quran who fears My threat.

  61. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  62. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  63. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  64. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

  65. Taught the Quran.

  66. Most surely it is an honored Quran,

  67. Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would certainly have seen it falling down, splitting asunder because of the fear of Allah, and We set forth these parables to men that they may reflect.

  68. Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book:

  69. Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran,

  70. Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited.

  71. Surely your Lord knows that you pass in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is easy of the Quran. He knows that there must be among you sick, and others who travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allah, and others who fight in Allah's way, therefore read as much of it as is easy (to you), and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and offer to Allah a goodly gift, and whatever of good you send on beforehand for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; that is best and greatest in reward; and ask forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

  72. Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it.

  73. Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation.

  74. Surely We Ourselves have revealed the Quran to you revealing (it) in portions.

  75. And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance?

  76. Nay! it is a glorious Quran,

  77. We will make you recite so you shall not forget,

  78. Read in the name of your Lord Who created.

  79. Read and your Lord is Most Honorable,
